Cast announced for The Hen Night by Debbie Hannan, premiering at A Play, A Pie and A Pint
A Play, A Pie and A Pint (PPP) is delighted to announce the cast of The Hen Night by Debbie Hannan, performing this June as part of its Spring 2026 season, supported by Creative Scotland.
Dani Heron (Radiant Vermin, Alright Sunshine), Laura Lovemore (Nun of Your Business, The Kelton Hill Fair) and Anna Russell-Martin (Bacchae, No Love Songs) will star in this comic joyride about three hens on a tequila-fuelled odyssey to save their bride-to-be-bestie, in a love letter to the power of fiery female friendship.
This is the latest play by acclaimed writer and director Debbie Hannan, who is currently directing a new production of Educating Rita for Dundee Rep. It will be directed by Laila Noble, former Associate Artistic Director at PPP, with set and costumes by resident designer Heather Grace Currie.
Debbie Hannan said: “‘The Hen Night is about one last messy night out with your pal before she gets married; situations that push friendship to the limit; and ultimately the (super)power of a girl’s best friends. It’s fun and fierce, with a dash of Greek chorus too, and now has a cast of the finest, funniest, most talented actresses in Scotland to bring it to life.”
