Glasgow panto favourite Darren Brownlie returns to the cast of King’s Theatre’s annual pantomime
The King’s Theatre, Glasgow has announced that Darren Brownlie will return to the cast of their annual pantomime Aladdin, produced by Crossroads Pantomimes.
Darren returns for his sixth panto season at The King’s as The Spirit of the Ring taking to the stage from Saturday 21 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027 alongside much-loved panto legends Elaine C Smith as Mother Goose and Johnny Mac as Aladdin in a whole new world of panto adventure for all ages.
Darren has worked extensively in Scottish theatre for over 15 years, selected credits include Rapunzel, Tin Forest (National Theatre of Scotland), Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing (Bard in The Botanics) as well as appearing as series regular Mikey Duffy on BBC One Scotland’s long running drama River City.
Aladdin is a brand-new version retelling of the classic tale with Glasgow wit and a musical heart. This truly ‘genie’-us panto for all the family promises audiences an abundance of comedy, sensational song and dance numbers, fabulous costumes and stunning scenery.
The King’s Theatre pantomime has been produced by Crossroads Pantomimes, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, since 2017 with Elaine C Smith, Johnny Mac and Darren Brownlie at the heart of creating the festive magic. Glasgow’s treasured panto trio reunite to take audiences on an adventure to find the magical lamp and see good triumph over evil, as only pantomime can.
