Play Pie Pint Summer Panto 2024 announced

Lunchtime theatregoers won’t have to wait until Christmas for their next dose of riotously funny adult-only panto action, with the home of A Play, A Pie & A Pint announcing that their own production of ‘Mumbelina’ will be running from  25th June to 20th July.

Following a bumper festive production of ‘Snow White and The Seven Maws’, the venue are promising big laughs and lots of entertainment from this latest production, written by Johnny McKnight and directed by Darren Brownlie.

So, what should we expect from the story this time? Well, Mumbelina is in trouble. You see, life isn’t easy when you’re short. Just ask Dec from Ant & Dec. But Mumbelina has started to shrink, rapidly! One morning Mumbelina wakes up to discover she’s shrunk to smaller than Glasgow city council arts budget. And to make matters worse she’s been kidnapped by the wicked amphibian dark overlord Froggie Mercury.

Can Mumbelina fight the horrors in the dark forest and find her way home? To do that she’s going to have to defeat a flock of tweeting tweeters with murder in their eyes; Outsmart the Country and Western genius Moley Parton; and finally defeat the monster lurking in the whoopsie aisle of the 24 hour Toryglen Asda.

Will Mumbelina find her way back home? Will she find someone to help her get the stock cubes off the top shelf? Will true love strike an arrow through her heart or just step on her and squish her to smithereens? Find out in this years’ gloriously subversive Panto ‘MUMBELINA’.

Tickets for the panto are on sale now at £21 per person, which in true Òran Mór fashion includes a pint, a pie, and plenty of puns.
