Oran Mór Announces Winter Panto

Oran Mór is delighted to announce that its iconic lunchtime adult pantomime will be back 28 November – 6 January with tickets on sale now.
Produced by the creative team behind the world-famous A Play, A Pie and A Pint, this year’s show is ‘Snow White and the Seven Maws’, a riotous and wildly entertaining spin on the classic fairytale by Scottish panto royalty Johnny McKnight and directed by Martin McCormick.
‘Snow White and the Seven Maws’ sees the fair-skinned princess having a very bad day as she finds out that her dad, the King, has not only remarried a complete heid-the-baw but has only gone and died too.
When a magic mirror tells the ‘Wicked Stepmother’ that Snow White is the prettiest in the land, things go completely tonto with the princess and her nanny – Hedda Lettuce – needing to escape the palace and avoid being minced into next week’s pies!
As per tradition, all tickets include a pie (or vegan sausage roll) and a pint, making it one of the best-value experiences this winter in Glasgow.
Johnny McKnight said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to join the line-up of Scottish creatives that have put their stamp on the Oran Mór pantos over the years. Whether it’s been the ferocity and heart of Dave Anderson, the magic and subversion of Morag Fullerton, the wicked wit of Gary McNair or the maverick mayhem of Andy McGregor it’s always been an unmissable event in the calendar. I take a solemn vow to make sure that the panto remains just as irreverent; just as bonkers and, most of all, just as much fun!
Martin McCormick added: “I’m delighted to return to direct at the Oran Mór having previously performed and written for the venue. The audience expects a brilliant and unique Panto and I think Johnny has written a cracker of a script and
they won’t be disappointed!”
