Scottish Opera is debuting its brand new season at Eastwood Park Theatre next month – and young people can experience the show for just £5.

Opera Highlights opens on Thursday 20 September, featuring an operatic playlist from much-loved and some lesser-known composers, and tickets are on offer to encourage young people to experience the opera.

Four professional singers and a pianist will be hitting the high notes as they present the autumn season, including Mozart and Donizetti, linked together with new compositions by Scottish Opera Composer in Residence Samuel Bordoli.

Tickets for Opera Highlights are priced at £14 but young people aged under 26 can get their hands on tickets for just £5 each.

Anthony McReavy from East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure said: “We are delighted to host Opera Highlights from Scottish Opera this year and to offer £5 tickets to encourage young people to come along. Whether it’s your first taste of a classical collaboration or you have enjoyed the opera many times before, this show is sure to hit all the right notes.

“Opera Highlights is recommended for those aged 8+ so is a great opportunity to get generations of the family together to enjoy a live performance of classical music.”

The show is directed by Daisy Evans and curated by Scottish Opera’s Head of Music Derek Clark and will tour the rest of the country after Eastwood Park’s premier.
