New Musical Talent – The composers, Craig Adams

Craig Adams is a composer, lyricist and arranger whose work crosses many genres from musical theatre to contemporary dance, classical composition to soul and pop music.

Adams originally trained as an Actor at Mountview Theatre School, London and after graduating with a BA(hons) Degree he went on to perform in shows such as‘Mamma Mia!’, ‘Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and ‘Zorro’amongst many others. He started writing and arranging full time in 2007.
Whilst at Mountview he devised and co-wrote, ‘Let Him Have Justice’. This production was subsequently produced by the Covent Garden Festival, performed at the Cochrane Theatre, London and the cast album later recorded at the world famous Abbey Road Studios.

Recent writing includes: ‘Therese Raquin’, MMD Workshop at Drury Lane Theatre, London; ‘The Watchers’ and its sequel ‘Ghosts Of The Past’, both for YMT. As Musical Arranger/Director he has worked on: musical arrangements and direction for Kerry Ellis on her one-woman show at the Shaw Theatre, ‘Kerry Ellis – The Great British Songbook’, ‘An Audience with Kerry Ellis’ (Shaw Theatre, 2011), musical director/composer and arranger on Julie Atherton’s new album, ‘No Space for Air’ (Now available on iTunes); vocal arranger/string and brass arrangements for ‘Love, Drunk, Soul’,The Franks new album. He is currently working with Louise Dearman on her‘Up-Close’ cabaret.  Craig won the Tim Williams award for Best song in the ‘New Music/Old Lyric’ category in 2010 for‘Live Hence By Truth’ (Lyric by William Shakespeare.)
